From 12 to 24 April 2026, UNIDO ITPO Italy hosted Mr. Cherk Klutse, representing the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) within the framework of the UNIDO Delegate Program. After the welcome roundtable “Ghana: Opportunities for Development and Investment” held at UNIDO ITPO Italy premises in the presence of leading Italian industrial associations and institutions, the first week of the Programme started with the Delegate participation in the IDA Summit 2026 in Turin, and continued in Milan with visits to some of the largest textile and waste electrical and electronic equipment sorting plants in Italy — including the National WEEEE Coordination Centre — as well as visits to Assolombarda, Confindustria Tessile Moda, Humana, and E4Impact Foundation. The second week saw the participation of the Delegate in the 2026 edition of Macfrut — Fruit & Veg Professional Show, where he also met with multiple Ghanaian companies participating in the expo, followed by B2B meetings at Confartigianato Prato and Confindustria Toscana Nord with several innovative Italian companies operating in textile waste and recycling. The two-week program allowed to initiate international connections, share innovative best practices and know-how, and facilitate synergies in a crucial sector for Ghana’s industrial development — also in light of the upcoming UNIDO ITPO Italy’s Ghana-Italy Circular Economy Dialogue.
