From 29th of June to July 4th 2026, UNIDO ITPO Italy led the business mission for a delegation of Italian innovators from the private sector and academia of the Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) Autonomous Region to Japan.

 

The mission included company visits to local innovation hubs as well as main stakeholders — including members of the University of Tokyo, Hitotsubashi University, CIC Osaka, O-Nexus, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, the Italian Embassy in Japan, EURAXESS Japan, and the Shibaura Institute of Technology — and featured company presentations, B2B and institutional meetings, and further networking activities before and during the World Health EXPO, held between July 2nd and 4th in Osaka. In those days, the participants also took part in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between FVG and the Prefecture of Osaka.

 

Organized in the framework of the renewed project “Innovation Gateway Trieste-Osaka”, funded by the FVG Autonomous Region, the initiative successfully fostered business connections and public-private and academic collaborations between the innovation ecosystems of Italy and Japan.
